YIN & SOUND

✨ Relaxing your body and mind with a deep yin and sound meditation practice✨

Stay tuned for upcoming events

Yin

In Yin yoga, we target not only the muscles but the deeper layers of the body; the ligaments, joints, bones, and deep fascia networks. A Yin class consists of a series of passive floor poses usually held for 3-5 minutes. We mainly work the lower part of the body; the hips, pelvis, inner thighs, lower spine as these areas are especially rich in connective tissues.

On an energetic level, Yin yoga improves energy flow and enhances the flow of chi in the organs. However, the practice also offers huge mental and emotional benefits too as we try to still our mind. It also gives us the opportunity to stay open to whatever arises and teaches us to respond rather than react.

Sound

Sound connects us with the world around us, and it holds the power to influence our thoughts, emotions, and physiology. Sound can convey information, evoke memories, create ambiance, and even facilitate healing.

Sound healing is a form of therapy that uses vibrations and frequencies to help heal and balance the body and mind. The idea is that vibrations and sound can affect the energy centers within the body, otherwise known as chakras. Studies have also shown that sound meditation can improve mood, reduce stress,  reduce pain, improve sleep quality , increase concentration and  stimulate the immune system.

How will this work?

We will start this session with a short introduction followed by a 45 minute yin practice. In this practice we will start releasing tensions in our body and mind through connection to our breath and relaxing poses. We start releasing any external distractions and turn to a more immersive state of mind.

Moving on to the sound meditation we will settle in with a guided breathwork meditation to increase oxygen flow in the brain. Then, through the tunes of live sounds made by several instruments and voice activation you will be taken on a journey where the brain can allow you to deeply relax, access your subconscious mind and release energetic blockages.

We start at 6pm, so please do come on time, and we will wrap up around 8pm.

Teacher bio

Julian

Julian started his spiritual journey and self-discovery 15 years ago, when pushed by a series of not very pleasant events in his life, and started looking for answers. He went on an interesting journey that took he through several schools (yoga, qi-gong, esoteric) on several continents. The things he saw and experienced made him open up to the unknown, become disciplined, increased his self awareness and what brings meaning and joy and to nourish this more than anything else.

Among his passions are; conscious movement, sports, ecstatic dance, meditation, neuroscience, knowledge of the universe and last but not least, music and sound that has had a profound impact on his connection to self and others.

His intention is to help people reach an elevated state of neural coherence, relaxation, detachment and integration.
